David Workman

Director General of the British Glass Manufacturers' Confederation

David Workman is Director General of the British Glass Manufacturers' Confederation, and has been so since 2001, and the current President of Brussels-based CPIV.

British Glass is the voice of the UK's glass industry dealing with Government and its agencies both in the UK and in Europe on a wide variety of legislative issues. His major role involves lobbying through various parliamentary groupings including the Packaging Federation, Confederation of British Industry and the Energy Intensive Users' Group as well as communicating with the EU through organisations such as FEVE, Glass for Europe and ESG.

David is also a Director of Glass Technology Services (GTS), the technical arm of British Glass, which has a worldwide customer base and offers glass related consultancy expertise as well as practical analytical, product performance and stack monitoring services.

David has spent most of his career in the glass industry including working as Sales and Marketing Director for Rockware Glass (now Ardagh Glass).
