Vehicle & Plant Zone Rules 2010
Following customer feedback from the vehicle and plant sector the majority of the silver zone will be a dedicated "no frills" area so that stand build and floor space costs are kept to a minimum. However, a small section of shell scheme stands will be available on the edge of this zone so that you can still exhibit in this area, if you don't want a large stand.
Items restricted in the Vehicle & Plant Zone
1. The construction of exhibition stands is strictly forbidden
The definition of which is:
- No building of structures such as a building, framework or wall
- No building of raised platforms or flooring
2. No items may be fixed to the floor
3. Any promotional items must be made good on both sides
4. Delivery of Exhibits
- Vehicles must arrive onsite on Sunday 13 June between 0800hrs - 2000hrs in order to gain access to the halls on Monday 14 June
- On Sunday 13 June, vehicles need to make their way to the Traffic Administration Office, where a Valid Lorry Access Document and delivery schedule will be issued
- The Valid Lorry Access Document should be displayed at all times
- Vehicles may park overnight in either the onsite Traffic Marshal Park or the off-site Traffic Marshal Park
- Vehicles must return to the Traffic Administration Office on Monday 14 June where they will be directed onto the lorry access way under the instruction of a Traffic Marshal, at their allocated time, in accordance with the delivery schedule
5. Any tracked machinery must be loaded/unloaded an exhibited using rubber tracks and protective matting must be used to eliminate damage to the floor.
6. Equipment that is exhibited with raised hydraulics must be propped using suitable secondary supports. In the case of hydraulic powered mechanisms, the use of lock valves, hose failure valves etc is NOT an acceptable alternative.
7. Exhibitors must apply in writing to the organiser no less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the event (22 April 2010) if they intend to bring any piece of equipment in to the venue that has a point loading that exceeds 12 tonnes.
8. Exhibitors must apply in writing to the organiser no less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the event (22 April 2010) if they intend to demonstrate any piece of equipment during the event.
9. Exhibitors must apply in writing to the organiser no less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the event (22 April 2010) if they intend to demonstrate vehicles: Please note that this is restricted to electric or hydraulic demonstrations only. Any demonstrations that require the use of petrol or diesel to operate will not be authorised.
If the venue consents to the use of a production line motor vehicle the following precautions shall be taken:
- The battery must be disconnected
- The fuel tank shall retain only the minimum quantity of fuel necessary for the action of driving into and out of the venue.
- The fuel cap shall be locked in place
- The fuel tank shall not be replenished in the venue
- A drip tray shall be provided under the engine
- Additional and appropriate fire fighting equipment shall be provided in the proximity of the vehicle
- Storage arrangement for any spare fuel shall comply with the venue's regulations for Storage of Explosives & Highly Flammable Substances Rules for Exhibitors and Contractors
10. Stand catering must be ordered through the venue's official onsite caterers which is Leiths or Creativevents.
Items NOT restricted in the Vehicle & Plant Zone
- The use of any hand portable, freestanding literature displays, pop-up displays, banner displays, screens, furniture. Literature displays, pop-up displays banners and screens must be made good on both sides.
- Exhibition Units
- Laying carpet or vinyl floor covering
- The use of banners/signage on rigging above stands, charges apply
