Futuresource (pronounced Future Resource) is a joint event from the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and the Environmental Services Association (ESA) for the environment and sustainability industry. Now into its second year, Futuresource is located at the ExCeL Centre in London's Docklands.
Futuresource comprises the Futuresource conference - an international conference on environmental practice and policy; and the
Futuresource exhibition - a large trade exhibition with over 350 exhibitors in six zones:
- recycling & composting
- waste & water management
- professional services
- air, energy & climate change
- street scene & facilities management
- vehicles & plant
The Futuresource name reflects the fact that the future is about resources and encapsulates the issues of the waste sector, which is now
expanding rapidly beyond its traditional boundaries.
Here's what Boris Johnson, Mayor of London had to say about Futuresource 2009:
"It [Futuresource] is a very important event and I am fully behind its move to London and what it stands for. The work that you [the waste and
resources management industry] is doing is truly inspirational."
